Welcome to the web presence of the Gahanna, Ohio American Legion Post #797. One of the fastest growing Legion Posts in Ohio, and one of the few to work hand in hand with their counterpart organization, the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The twoPosts are co-located on a piece of land owned by VFW Post #4719, in a location which could soon be designated as a Veterans Memorial Park by the City. The Post is located directly across from the new Creekside City Center in Gahanna, a development that is quickly becoming well known for its annual Creekside Jazz and Blues Festival.


Sorry, all previous newsletter files from previous years have been deleted.  Starting from the October - November 2011 Newsletter, you can find newsletters previously sent out under the Subscribe button in the link, "Previous Issues." 


Please check the calendar sent out with the last newsletter to see what is going on at your Post and the VFW Post.  There are lots of activities planned, some of which you may be really interested in and some maybe not so much interested, but if you want to have some fun, please come to those that interest you.  Be especially mindful of the August joint VFW/Legion annual picnic, open to all members, including the SAL and Auxiliary of both Posts.


The Gahanna Post of the American Legion was founded in 2002, with Gahanna veterans of various military backgrounds coming together to form a unit that started  with 26 veterans.  Since then, we have grown to a present 430 members, having been joined by veterans from other communities, who, having a dedication to serving their country and community, have put their efforts towards
